Sept. 10

Reaction to what you saw. What do you think about violence and gaming? OK, out of control? Helping military? Hurting focus?

  1. I think the violence is good I think it shows people sorta how war is. I would say it would help the military because it gets people pumped up about it.

    1. I don't think soldiers rip each other arms off and beat each other to death while shooting each other with rocket launchers

  5. I think most violence in video games is harmless. It might be over exaggerated in certain games, but still, harmless.

  6. i liked how they showed the peoples faces while they were playing so you could see their reactions.

  7. While all of the games were extremely well designed, Gears of War 3 was somewhat overly violent when the character was beaten to death with his own arm.

  8. MLG pros are a bunch of try hard gamers who lost sight of what is the definition of gaming. Turning something that was a simple pass time into something worse.

  9. The gaming looked great, the players were epic, and the violence amount was just right. I can see how the games could help military purposes, but I can also see how it would be no help at all because many of the players didn't seem like the types that could do what they did in the video-games with a real gun.

  10. I think that the violence in the games will only increase more as the technology becomes available.

  11. I believe after seeing that video that my friends are not as good as I thought at the games that we play. I believe that the violence in the games helps provide a story to develop and make it more interesting for certain players.

  12. i think the violence will only affect people if they try to bring the game to the real world

  13. its crazy how many people show up to these events, there was a ton of violence but that is how it is these days. I doubt this has any military benefit because I doubt those players could do what they do in the game in real life.

  16. I loved the violence! I would enjoy be part of something like that. I also enjoyed the halo reach part cause I love halo. I am an amazing sniper compared to most of my friends, but
I would rather play Legend of Zelda.

  17. It was decent. There wasn't anything wrong with it, who cares about violence in games anyways?

  18. My reaction to all of the games is indecisive. Not all games in the world are extremely violent. Though, most of the games that were seen in this video were, it still makes for an entertaining video game. The violence is fine, people aren't running out in the streets, with most situations, and attempting to reenact this violence. The games about war does help the military because it's showing what it really can be like in those situations and gives more awareness.

  19. I think the violence isn't a problem. Because people know it's not real.

  20. I am kind of in between in the argument about violence in video games. It all depends on the game, since not all games include violence. Whether it is in control or not, I can't really say, since some of the game genres are basically 100% violence when there are some that include no violence. I do not think that violent video games help or hurt the military. I do however think that violent video games can effect focus, depending on the level of violence.

  21. My reaction to what I saw was just WOW and to see how many people actually go to those events was amazing. I don't really care about the violence in the games they don't bother me.

  22. Some "violent" games aren't really that bad, because the violence is not realistic, such as Worms: Open Warfare 2 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Those games are a lot of fun and aren't violent enough to cause the idea of "killing people is fun". Games that are super realistic aren't really... good.

Sometimes violence is funny. Even I laughed at the violently gory hilarious parts. But it would be just as funny if it wasn't realistic or bloody.

Also: If a reason to go into the military is that you get to kill people, there is a problem.

  23. I thought this video was really cool. The over the top violence is amazing. It doesnt create angry people. It lets you take out anger from the real world so you dont do it in real life
